I’ve done some searching but not found much. Has anyone done a black/silver 2-tone on a set of stock wheels? More specifically these wheels. I’m debating doing it when weather/time permits. I’m finding a lot of just plain painted black. I was thinking inner barrel and inside edges of the spokes black while leaving the face of the wheel silver. Of course the bow ties would be black as well. Truck already has these wheels too.
it ain't a silverado or even silverado wheels
...but they are stock chevy rims with everything powdercoated black except for the polished faces, so maybe it helps your imagining
Yea, that’s the paint scheme I’m talking about. It’s easy to find on aftermarket truck wheels and other vehicles. I was just curious if anyone on here had ever done it or seen a set in person that had been done and how it looked on the truck. I’ve got a 04’ Z71 body style.
Interesting concept that looks good in a showroom without a tire, but when you get it on the vehicle, it just makes the whole wheel look smaller. That's just my opinion, though.
Not sure if you would call this two tone or not but, my Center Line wheels were chrome and I painted the inside (behind the face) of the wheels black just to highlight the face of the wheel. Turned out great, most people didnt even notice and those that did thought it was a great idea.
I am buying new wheels for my new truck and plan on doing the same thing, kinda. I plan on having the face of the wheels powder coated chrome and the inside of the wheels powder coated the same color as the truck, which is a maroon color. Will also paint the front calipers in a high gloss silver and the rear drums the same. I think it will look pretty damm cool!!
I’m just gonna go for it, just need to pick up a extra wheel to try it on and that’ll give me a full size spare too, lol. Instead of leaving it the silver my new idea is to color match it gold to the truck on the faces and black insides accented with red calipers. Whole theme of the truck is moving towards black/gold. I’m also gonna at minimum remove my stock Z71 lift blocks and decrank the bars along with some new Billsteins in hope of a much improved ride. Right now she bounces like a wagon and that doesn’t work for my driving style, lol.
I love all Black and gold but I'm not sure about the red caliper with a gold and black theme. I really would love to do a V2 in all black and just gold rims like this V3
