2" drop in rear?
 

my truck sets 3" higher in the ass than the front and i want my truck to set more level.there is a 2" spacer between the springs and the axle.just wanted to know if was as simple as pulling out the spacer?looks like if i did pull it out id have to get different ubolts because there is not enough threads on them after the spacer is out.anyone done this?any problems?easy job? THANKS

The quickest & easiest method to lower your truck 2" in the rear would be to replace the shackles at the rear of the leaf springs. They are pretty cheap too. It only takes about an hour to do. Any company that sells after market parts for our trucks should carry them.

yeah i could always do that i think its only 50$ or so. but to pull the spacer out would do the same thing for nothing

If you are talking about what I think you are it's welded to the rear-end and has a guide hole for the springs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

What about dearching the lowest of the leaf in the leaf spring. One of my friends had that done in Mexico for $25. They were able to lower his truck 2 inches from the back and there was no change in ride quality. I certenly think its worth if you ask me. Anybody has any input or experiences on this?

I did the 2 inch rear drop using the shackles... some of the best 50 bucks I've ever spent! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> It really looks much better with the truck being levelled out, especially if you have some bigger wheels. It helps to have air tools for the install though, it got a lil tricky at times using opposing wrenches to tighten/loosen the bolts. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
