Default 2/4 drop what should I use?

I want to do a 2/4 drop on my 2003 gmc sierra. What kind of kit should I go with. I was thinking about going with the DJM stuff. Any help would be appreaciated.
If you respond please tell me how you like the ride quality and does anyone know if the DJM stuff squeaks at all. I dont want a noisy suspension. Thanks

use Belltech components, they're the best on the market. a little more money, but you get what you pay for. make sure you get 2" spindles for the front and a 2" hanger/2" shackle combo for the rear. this setup will change your ride quality none because you havent changed any of your springs. all is easy to install except the hangers (the part studed to the side of your frame that holds the leaf springs) you have to air hammer them off or drill them out and then bolt the new ones on. some people do it with the gas tank in, i take it out to make it a little easer/safer to get to everything on that one hanger. tip - if youre taking the tank out, drive it till the gas light comes on and then some, and then go drop it.

I'm going to totally disagree and say go with Hotchkis. I'm glad I did and I would do it again. Consider DJM as second choice. Use Belltech if you want to increase your turning radius, especially with thier spindles. Belltech used to be an innovater but now they're following the pack.

I totally agree with j smith. I had the belltech spindle and shackle/hanger. The shackle and hanger where alright but the spindle was the biggest piece of sh-- I have ever seen. I will get the hotchkis when I put another drop on it. Definitely stay away from the belltech spindle especially if you want to be able to turn around in a football field.

Thanks for the replies. I am also going to put on the boyd coddington cast 22 timeless rims. Should I still go with the hotchkis stuff with the 22 inch rims. Also is there a kit to buy or is it the shackle in the back and a spring for the front. Thanks for the help again

The Hotchkis kit is an all spring kit. Front coils and rear leaf packs. TByrne, one of our site sponsors carry Hotchkis.

Although I am another supporter of the Hotchkis kit, You may want to stick with the DJM for ride quality. The 22 are already going to deminish you ride and the Hotchkis kit makes it a good bit stiffer. The DJM kit will keep factory ride characteristics with a little better handleing. Just make sure you get some good shocks that can handle the heavy wheels.

My 2/4 Belltach drop with coil springs and hangers/shackles rides ROUGH real rough. But I'm still on factory shocks too. hehe After this weekend I'll have some Edelbrock IAS shocks, they should do the trick...

When you say stiffer do you mean stiff as in a good suspension stiff. Or a jagged, excuse my language, but fucked up stiff. I have had sports cars all my life and like the good stiff fealing a good suapension gives you. Also what kind of shocks would you go with.
So the hotchkis leaf springs lower it, or is it the leaf springs and then the shackles.

Well if you like a sporty suspension, go with the Hotchkis kit. The springs do all the lowering. Just replace you front coils and rear leafs with the hotchkis springs and you are ready to roll.
