I have a 01 hd and it has the smooth tailgate protector that is 3m taped on. I friend of mine gave me a molded one from a 03 and has screws. the problem I'm having is the tailgate has hex holes with no bolts. does any one know if they sell a insert for the hex holes. I checked the dealer and they don't have anything.

Any ideals?

There are anchors that go inside the hex holes...why your dealer can't get ahold of them is beyond me??

 

your dealer is full of **** and lazy tell them to wake up and get the parts.

 

dont waste your time.. i did this to my truck and got all the bolts ad ancors and they never stay in..

 

why not glue it or tape it ? might sound corney but i am sure that 3m has a product to do it
