I hadn't washed my truck in a while so at my parents this weekend I decided to wash my truck. Well I rinsed the truck first, the I grabbed they brush and soap and went to town. Now that its dry holy hell did I scratch the hell outa a bunch of places. I find out after from my mother, that my father never rinses off the brush so its always full of sand and she has bought her own brush for washing her car. What can I do to fix the gouges, can I wax it.. or do I need to claybar them?

So take a power buffer and then buff away the scratches in the clear coat. What do you reccommend to build the clear coat back up, or is there even a way other than to get someone to shoot a coat or so back over it?

claybar, wax...repeat. if that doesnt work get it buffed out by your local bodyshop. im assuming its just swirl marks if there was sand on the brush so claybar and wax should do wonders. oh and use waxing pads to apply the wax and a clean microfiber towel to remove it.

they aren't swirl marks.. they are straight lines, real bad ones at that lol. I'm tempted to bring it to a body shop to see what they can do because its going to bug the hell outa me

+1 on clay bar.
I use the brush at the car wash but I wash it first with the sprayer. I make sure i blast the **** outta it. I had small swirls in my finish when I got the truck used. Plan to clay bar it but I'd need help with the higher spots.
