One of my coworkers brothers has an auto 95 5.0 mustang. Claimes to have a cam and exhaust. He also says he has truck transmisson in it, I have no idea what that is "supposed to mean" but whatever. Coworker has been at me for like a week or two saying the stang will beat my trucks ***. I told him ok. I'll race him on the 87 tune first then let him see what the 93 tune does. Just like the last guy I raced he has shitty tires on the back and the car is not in the best of shape. Hopefully I can get it settled this weekend. If I lose I lose o well. I figure it wont be by all that much. I'll post up when it goes down.

Yea hopefully, but being a crew cab is def not gonna help my chances. I know they had stock 215hp stock. But thats as far as I know

 

A 5.0 with those mods. should be at least a 14.1 car. I found a edmunds article about your truck (5.3?) running 14.9 stock. I say he beats you good driver and properly running car. But, if he screws up a little you could end up making him want a different ride. Should be interesting.

Well no race this weekend however I found out it has a stage 4 thumper cam shorty headers and runs pig rich.

 

I don't believe the stage 4 part I've heard the car and it doesn't have that hard of a hit

 

Maybe he just pulls a vaccume line to make it sound like it has a big cam. All of my friends that have owned a mustang used to pull that trick. And thats also why they ran pig rich too. I say race him. It may be stock with a k&n and a different muffler.....not an exhaust system...just a muffler.

Mustangs from around my area pull that crap all the time. Like I said ALL of my friends that owned mustangs used to pull crap like that. All bark with little to no bite. Worst thing that can happen is a muscle car beats a truck. That doesn't sound too bad. But when a truck beats a muscle car.......

 

Its probably an AODe, there is no 'truck' version, its a small bellhousing AOD, nothing big. Now adding a cam to a stock 5.0 can open up some power. But he's probably about 3400 lbs...if it was a 5 speed, he would for sure walk you...I say roll race him.
It either has the 215hp motor, or the 240hp version.

 

We ran tonight, first race 30 roll: even til I let out as we went up a hill. He got me by a car. Second run 30 roll I pulled half a truck and kept it there till 98. third run dig: I hooked at the line pulled almost a full truck on him and he came back to at my passenger side front door and stayed there til 98. So 2-3 ain't bad. He said nice truck.
