Hey guys.....I had to tell you this one! Saturday night, I was in my truck (03 GMC Z71 5.3 with a lot of mods.) with a friend of mine driving me (sober driver).....and this guy rolls up on me....with his 05 GT Stang....bone stock.

He wants to run em' from a roll of course, he's got a 5 speed....my truck's an auto w/ a TC, Shift kit, Full exhaust, CAI, NelsonPerformance Tune, 3.73 w locker.

1st run from 40mph my truck pulled a truck length on him and it took an 8th of a mile for him to catch me, but he coulden't pass me.

2nd run he got a jump on me an pulled about 2 cars.....before I pulled back to his quarter panel.

3rd run we kicked at the same time and my truck actually won by a half length.

I was like...."oh man you got owned by a truck".....so he cried around saying his traction control limited him on the 1st and last runs.....then he said his clutch was slipping. I could only say one thing to him....."LS1 Truck bitch!!!"

Needless to say he then would not race my buddy's Z28 when we asked....said he had to go home. Wonder why.

My truck ain't the slowest thing in the world.....but maybe he ain't the best driver either.

What do you guys think?

 

those '05s aren't real fast stock but quick... nice kill! I'm not sure what they run but I think it's high 13s.

 

Hey man, what kind of times does your truck run? I haven't seen many numbers on the SS trucks......raced a few of em but they've all been stockers....no mods.

 

with a K&N FIPK II, dual Flowmaster exhaust, 160* T-stat, and a PCM tune I ran 14.4 @ 94... haven't ran it with the cam, verter and shift kit yet. Hopefully I will this wknd. I'll post up #s if I do!
