Lost to a Stock SS
#21
Most awd SS i've seen run about a 15 flat. And yes, 3.42s suck tell me about it. I've been thinking about 3.90s. 4.10s will effectively give you about 20% more torque to the wheels compared to 3.42s

A RCSB 5.3 (with a tune) will beat a stock SS, but alot things can vary. Mine was slow too when it was stock. Get a converter, and you'll get out of the hole faster, but being up in the rpms, you might spin more too. So choose your poison, either the rear axle or the converter.

When all i had was an intake, exaust (slowmasters
), and a hypercrap programmer i pulled one on decently on the freeway. The SS only had exaust and it was awd. We didn't get to go from a dig though.
I think if yall go from a roll you should pull on him. Especially with the custom tune you should be pulling ahead of him. Like someone said earlier he might be lying about the mods lol.

Yeah, I think on the freeway, things would be different, but from a dig, I got no chance.
And I think that if we woulda kept going, I probably would've started to gain some ground since 70mph is the middle of second gear, and I was just hitting some good power.
I think the guy was local to me, so I'll keep an eye out for a rematch.

I had a ex.cab 5.3 GMC with hypercrapper, slowmaster exhaust, CAI, Gibson shorties, etc. When I got the SS, it pulled harder than my GMC at 70-75mph to 110 just in stock form. It really has a nice downshift at that speed. That's SS's strong point with a 2wd, mid to top end speed. Not sure on the AWD. There has been some debate on the 2wd vs the AWD. But none the less, I don't want to take anything away from you guys, cause anything can happen.
