^^^^. I'm with him. Get your exhaust, tune, CAI. Then get a stall (Yank TT 3000) and a shift kit (Trans Go HD-2) and of course retune for the shift points and line pressures. Lastly get your cam, pushrods, and valve springs. Since you still want good towing capabilities try to keep the duration around 220 and below unless you find one the suits your needs.

Im getting a tune in august when BB comes to NJ, for the intake im gonna do a true cold air with the custom spectre intake, exhaust im just gonna do cat back for now but ill consider headers.

Yeah sounds like some gears and a tune would have solved your problem.. I have my tune set up to where the truck will still kick down to 2nd up to 70mph. This allows me to pull the top of second before it shifts into 3rd. Normally around 55-70mph it kicks down only to 3rd causing it to lug..

ive done the same thing,, except i picked on a turboed civic and he hate my lunch on the interstate... we pulled over at a gas station and talked for awhile. cool guys, he just kept cracking the sleeves or something so he gave up and got a streetbike.
