While my diesel is light years away from being as fast as my old Z was, its still fun to play around with. When Im on the highway Im usually pulling a trailer so most of my races are when Im loaded down and playing with other diesels. I was driving back from Hobbs, NM today pulling a 16' low boy trailer with a 74 ford bronco, a 120 quart ice chest full of elk meat
, my 03 honda foreman es, generator and every other supply you can imagine that you would need to be out in the woods for 8 days. Totally GCVW was around 16K so I was trucking along with a pretty good load when I was going up a long grade passing a new tundra who was pulling a smaller boat(~18' ski boat), I didnt pass him very fast but I have a turbo back corsa exhaust so it gets loud outside when under load but not inside luckily. So as I was passing him I notice his headlights lift up and I stop passing him and he starts pulling well I stomped on it and the corsa started screaming
as the lane ends merge left sign comes up(his lane was ending) I start pulling him and byt he time his lane ends Ive got a good 3-4 truck lengths on him. I know there is a big difference in caliber of trucks but he was the one who brought a knife to a gun fight that he picked
On the way up to the woods from my dads place I was pulling his 20' enclosed trailer with his jeep rubicon, all the camping supplies, my four wheeler and his four wheeler in the bed(18.5K GCVW) when a ford power stroke tried to run me on a 7% grade pulling a 20' low boy with a smal tractor on it and it was no contest I outran him bad. And to top it off he got to hear my corsa screaming in his ear the whole way up the mountain outside albuqurque(sp?).
Here a few months back I raced a cummins much like my truck when I had my fifth wheel hooked up that also beat but I recieved my magical slipping allison trans from that, Im sure its not long for the world but when it goes Ill pull it out and rebuild it then Ill get to load the big tune. My current tune puts out 365/752 to the rear wheels through 35s and the big tune will be around 500/1100 so that should make for some real fun

I know my kill strories are kinda boring but since I put the Z back to stock just about the only fun I get is in the diesel. Its amazing how much tq these motors make and with a little tweaking how much more they make, there is very little pedal effort needed to gain speed, just ease on the gas, the turbo spools and away you go.
There isnt a day that goes by that I dont wish I would've gotten my dmax sooner. Since I tow so much it has made that chore so much easier.

LOL I know exactly what your talkin about. My dad has just gotten in the game with his 95' 2500 Cummins with K/N Intake, 4" dowpipe, No cat, full 4" exhaust, and #6/5 fuel plate. The truck runs good for what it is and great compared to when it was stock. He likes to play with other diesels, but has a few stories of new Cummins draggin his *** with 16' trailers while he didnt even have a trailer.
