had a quick little race last night with my new 07 Sierra CC 4x4, against a 03 or 04 Dodge CC 4x4, he's a friend of mine,

first race from 10 the hemi outpowered me, pulled a truck or a little more when we let off at 3rd gear shift,
then from 25 it was neck and neck, once again till 3rd gear shift
both vehicles stock, man its funny racing something this slow, you can actually just sit there and wave while moving along, change radio stations and everything.. lol

then when we go race our regular cabs, the race is over before you know it.

 

stock for stock, the hemi definately out powers the 5.3. mod for mod chevy FTW

 

lol, I borrowed my buddies 2006 CC 4.8 for a day and found myself laughing out loud at how weak that combo really was.

 

that would be pretty bad. i havent driven a stock silverado in about 2 years. i kinda want to see what it feels like. maybe ill go test abuse one at the dealership today

 

yeah, especially from getting out of mine and into that

 

i still think dodge looks ugly.

 

what gears are in the 5.3?

 

I use to have an 05' GMC escb 5.3, with a flowcrapper, hypertech, and 20's. My buddy had a QC hemi with a K&N intake, 17's and a flowmaster. We raced three times. We were pretty much dead even until the third race. His tranny was heating up, so I beat him by 1/2 truck lenth at 100mph. I never thought my GMC would stay up with him, but it did. I think the hypertech helped, because I programmed the shift points and speed limiter to wind out farther.

 

3.73's,
the 5.3 also had 200 miles on it too, break it might help some.

 

And I think Chevy's are ugly, but hey that's just my opinion as is yours.
