.. we raced(over the last 6 months or so) after every mod i put on pretty much. He beat me every time by about 2 car lenghs. custom catback didn't make a difference, intake didnt make a difference, servo really helped the 1-2, when i had my tune and i raced i had a full take and he was on empty and i was using 87 octance.. so he beat me pretty bad...oh and i was loaded down with tools b/c it was after work and we were so close to the road we race on. so i said fk it.

So last night he had his g/f with him recording it and he was talking **** saying that shes gonna have to get a good angle his side view mirror to get the front of my truck in the vid(like hes gonna smoke me again)

So, i told him 10 mph roll, 2 honks and we are off.. i held it in 1st. so does he, i honk 2 times and we are off. i start pulling then i hit the 1-2 shift and pull a lil more. then hes creeping up slowly on me..by 65 hes at the middle of my bed, by 80 hes at my gas tank, i notice the 2-3 shift was sluggish, i didnt make any gain, and aerodynamics was killing me, at damn near 100 way past the 1320 ft mark i shut down with him at my back door. maybe a lil closer.

no doubt that from a stop he would eat me, bc of my gearing.. he says i got the jump, i think its was bc of my tq and he had to make an excuse infront of his girl. lol

i would say, at the strip i run a 15.6 or so.. time for gears!

**** those maximas. they are quick, but not that quick. a little cam and gears, you should eat him up. he will still beat you in a race for gas mileage though! lol

 

lol thanks, yes time for gears and a locker.. i do a lot of hw driving but its only 45-65 mph for about 40-100 miles a day.. so with gas prices being 3.40 for 89 oct. would u say it would be smarter to get 373s? i dunno i really want 410s but i cant afford gas.. i just moved into my first apartment with my girl. i didnt have any idea how much it was going to cost living on ur own.. so mods are gonna be a while.. im happy with now..

im going to join the coast guard within the yr so ill have plenty of time for mods later. but u never know what can happen.. im definitly going to get that 97 cougar to sell, then i will have money to spend on mods
