Well This was my first ground up resto project. I bought my 94 civic to save gas in college so I didn't have to drive my Silverado with the thirsty lq4.

Then I wanted to drop it on some wheels, which lead to fixing the body damage and painting it in the garage.

After college it became my spare/toy car so I started with the suspension, then brakes. I didn't like the interior so it got stripped out to be refurbished or replaced (had to add the OEM DC2 Recaros).

Now it was comfortable and handled good so the engine had to go. I ditched the 1.5L and built a 1.8L GSR, mated that to a ITR trans with lsd,and upgraded the wheels and tires.

And that is the story of how my track car came to be. This is how it sits today.

I'll post up... Here is mine, I had a 87 ford ranger, 78 chevy and i found this one when i was 20. The pics are limited for now until i find more. I wanted a square body 4x4 lifted shortbed. This one was free sitting in a lady's yard and missing a pile of parts, i did a thread here just to post something else but it didn't get much attention. I still have it and don't use it much, its a fun ride tho.

1980 Toyota:

Engine: Rebuilt 22R 4 cylinder, GM 2.8 v6 TBI setup with custom tune, GM 150Amp alternator, Ford Taurus electric fan

Transmission: W56 5-speed trans, dual transfer case gear boxes with double low gears in rear case, twin sticks on rear case (Low, double low, triple low in 2wd or 4wd), custom front rear drive shafts, skid plate mount

Axles: stock front axle with Lock-Rite lunch box locker, IFS rear axle with Detroit locker, stock 4.375 gears font & rear

Suspension: Rear leaf springs up front (move axle forward a couple inches), high steer kit with IFS steering box, GM 63" leaf springs in rear, Bilstein 5150 shocks all around, ~ 3" lift

Wheels/Tires: 15" Crager soft 8's with 35x10.50 BFG Mud Terrain tires

Body: 12,000lb winch on front plate, trimmed fenders to fit tires, bobed rear of bed 14" for better exit clearance

Fun truck! Could go almost anywhere with it including ATV trails. In triple low, could get out and walk beside it as it climbed up stuff
