I'm going to hold off on a cage until they force me to get one. nobody wants to drive a jungle gym.

I completely expected the bench to weigh the most. and the weight of the s10 buckets surprised me. after looking at the bottom side of the bench, there is a ton of fat that could be trimmed without sacrificing the rigidity or function of the seat. I'm gaining a little weight going to the cavalier seats, but the purpose was to install my nitrous bottle on the trans tunnel between the seats.

update.
the seat tracks/seatbelts from cavalier seats come in at roughly 12.5 lbs
the seat tracks from s10 seats come in at 8.5 lbs.

once swapping brackets, the cavalier seats only come in roughly 3 lbs lighter than the bench seat

don't have any right now. i'll grab some after I pressure wash them. they are two toned and match my interior nicely. This is the best google pic of the seats that I could find.

here is the idea of how it will look (minus the wood block lol). yes the dash and floor is going back in for a stock appearance. I think the 2 tone seat matches the factory door panels pretty good. seats need to be washed up.

and the right bedside body work is complete

it needs a new windshield, the dash is out and I need to pull the motor and trans...if I'm going to cage it, right now makes sense...I just don't want to. decisions decisions

I believe it was quik who did it, but I have seen guys make removable door bars that make having a cage much easier to live with. Love following your build. Make me want to find and buy back my 96 S10 I bought right after high school.

I started it for the last time for a long time today. i miss that sound. I think I'm going to go ahead and cage it while I have the interior stripped down to avoid issues. I'm already well past the point of needing a cage on motor. I doubt they will turn their head when I crack the bottle open. all of this weight reduction I've been doing is just to add more weight I guess. all of the AC from under the hood and under the dash is gone. I've seen some bad wrecks on youtube and figure i'll give in to safety since it should be good for mid to high 9's.
