With my turbo I had a 3.5" cut-out about 6 inches off the Down-pipe. And with the cut-out closed it went through a stock 1500HD muffler to shut the truck up when cops were around. Best of both worlds.
I'll see if I can't find a clip of it...

Here ya go man, this was from a long time ago. This was actually with a Flowmaster on it. Eventually I put a stock HD muffler on it and the truck sounded absolutely stock. However with the cut-out closed I couldn't make more than 7psi and with the cut-outs open and the resulting increase in pressure differential I would see 18psi easy.
Depends on how you want to proceed, some people don't want to have to deal with a switch, they just wanna have to romp on the pedal and go nuts, me personally, I could wait the 3 seconds it took to open the cut-out. That and a loud truck gets OLD FAST.

Well big update. Drove the truck around for about 20-30 miles today!
Got the new power steering pump on it this morning and drove it around for about 5 miles and got a very nasty noise, sounded like a bearing seizing up. Turned out it was the little cone dust cover for the carrier bearing was spinning with the driveshaft. We fixed it quick for the time being and prolly get a new one tomorrow seeing this one was out in the weather for over a year.
As far as driving, I can believe at how nicely mannered it is. Still working on the tune with Wheatley but I did tip into boost a couple of times and it feels really really good
A lot of people have also said about how long it would take to spool up but in 4th gear at like 2500, I just lean into it and it would jump right out of vacuum and start to go into boost. I havnt gone WOT at all so I cant really judge everything yet but I am really happy with it so far.
Hope to get a couple of videos tomorrow as long as the weather isnt too shitty.
