Tired Out '00 Ecsb Z71 Turbo Project/Build/Whatever

New year bump/update.
No real updates, just been driving the truck. I did finally get my #5 spark plug wire to stop burning up by doubling up on the thermal sleeves. Next major update will come once I figure out who's going to build my trans up.
In the meantime, my current exhaust isn't something I'm happy with. The LTs/ORY are holding up decently so far (for ebay), but my pipe after the ORY is still stock 2.5" and the Summit bullet muffler is about all blown out and ready to fall off.
So with having got a $50 Amazon gift card for christmas, I decided to order this nice Dynomax kit. It's 3" and full stainless steel. Price on it was $305 and change, but with tax and my gift card, the total was $272! Should have it by the weekend with the free 2-day shipping through the Prime trial.

Well unfortunately I had to modify the tailpipe of my new exhaust but other than that it's on and sounds great! It was louder and had a deeper tone before I added the tailpipe, but it's MUCH quieter in the cab now.
So my exhaust now is; Stainless steel Ebay LTs/2.5" ORY, 3" stainless steel Dynomax catback PN: 39311 with the tailpipe cut off just after it comes down behind the axle. I HAD to do this due to the DJM sway bar being right in the way.

Just to update anyone still following my build.
I finally got a good fix for my plug wires that kept burning up. I'll never recommend these ebay hump headers to anyone ever!
I took rel3rd's idea from his thread here https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...y+hump+headers and used exhaust wrap on #5 and #7 plug wires. Works great so far. Started at one end, went up and back so they have a good 4-5 layers around the wire. I can touch the wrap with my hand after a good hard drive and they are just barely warm to the touch, so I think I'm good now until the turbo kit goes on.
The 3" catback I added has helped out a decent amount over the 2.5" catback I had on there. It feels softer down low, but that's because it takes less throttle to do the same work now. My TPS % when cruising before was normally anywhere from 18%-25%, now it's around 13%-20%.
The main thing I wanted to update is that when I get back from my vacation this coming week... I will finally be ordering a RPM level 7 4L60E and Circle D 265mm triple disk converter in the 2800-3000 stall range. I'll also get my true-trac, diff studs, girdle cover, and all new bearings/seals installed when the trans and converter come in.
Justin will also be tuning in my area at the end of the month. So I'm going to get my wideband gauge and sensor installed and get him to give me one more good tune update before I get cranking on the turbo stuff. I may also hit the track again after he updates the tune, but by then It may be too warm out to even bother.

If I were doing headers permanently and not doing it more for the fun of it and the info I would've gone the same route. Being that I just wanted to see what my truck would run with the triple 12 cam NA, I bought the most affordable set I could.
