I must have a real turd... my 2002 2WD Tahoe L59 5.3L averages 16 MPG. (It gets as bad as 14.5 some weeks) I have never seen more than 17.5 on the freeway. It is all stock save for an Airraid intake tube. 3.42 gears, 265/70-16 tires. (Factory size) It does have 222K+ on the clock, but I maintain it. I'd love to just be able to pull a consistent 20 MPG out of week to week. It's not worth a lot, so I plan to just drive it until it dies/falls apart. Maybe some tuning would be worth it?

Took the Tahoe up to Hermiston Oregon yesterday, about 3.5 hrs each way, tuned 8 cars and drove home. Averaged 18.9 mpg round trip and allot of that was 75-80mph not caring about fuel economy because I wanted to be home. Ended up being a 18 hour day for me tuning but made good money. Hoping to drop my hd hood off at my buddies shop this week for him to get started on painting it. I think I’m gonna leave the grill and bumpers for now though.

...but the regular manual mirrors with the convex spots in the corners (that were just slightly bigger than the standard ones) were sexy & greatly improved visibility - especially with a trailer.
just sayin...
