My limited body work experience says bondo but damn what did they do bondo the whole door? What's the point of that? Just buy another door and paint it and save the effort.

It might be primer I guess but it feels weird as hell.

I stripped the guts of the LBZ doner cab and sent it to the crusher... door's just don't sell, I already have some I am trying to get rid of. I wanted to keep the fuel tank but I have no room for it.

 

interesting didn't know that. They seem to sell around me lol, every part of the truck will sell. I would just buy another door but don't want to have the same disaster happen. I can get another door for ~$150. And to think, this was the nicest ******* door on the whole truck!

After I pulled off the spears though they were all green underneath, moldy lookin color, and they reeked. No idea if that is related.

 

Sad... $100 for a door here and they just sit... Perfect doors no damage. usually everything but a door panel.

It does look like Bondo. Bondo should only be used up to a certain thickness, can't remember right now. Sloppy shops use it way thicker than the maximum thickness and down the road the stuff cracks. I would look around with a flashlight to see if you can spot any indication of more of this. 🧐 Hopefully that's it. Yeah, just get a replacement door.

I repainted a hood and fender on my OBS when I bought it. Turned out okay. I actually have to reshoot a door on my 06 Suburban. It's got some scratches and a few dings. It takes time to get stuff to look decent.
