Default Remote Transmission Cooler

So Im putting on a transmission cooler for the 3200 stall converter i got and wanted to put it somewhere other then the front of the truck infront of the radiator. I ended up deciding on making a custom mount using (2) 2"x1" square tubing and locating it right behind the transmission brace.

Its a Derale 13700 Electra-Cool Remote Cooler that i got off amazon for bout $140 plus a thermostat switch to turn the fan on and off, was another $25

Amazon.com: Derale 13700 Electra-Cool Remote Cooler: Automotive
Amazon.com: Derale 13021 -6AN x -6AN In-Line Fluid Thermostat: Automotive

It may be a bit over kill but who cares, as long as it keeps the trans temp down.

I also picked up a piece of perforated 14 gauge steel and bent it a little bit an made a rock guard to protect the cooling fins from being damaged from rocks and debris.

Im going to be putting in -6 nylon breaded hoses, just need to get them measurements and get them made up from a shop down the street from me and wire in the fan and should be good to go. Gonna pull all the stock cooler and lines out.

Thought Id share with you guys, I was really satisfied with the way its turning out.

What reason did you have for not putting it in front of the condenser? Have an intercooler there or something?

THIS! This is the main reason I put it there. I didnt want to snake it through my headers an heat up the fluid. I just found this to be a better spot. AND the thing is pretty thick. It just didnt fit nicely up front.
