Was told it was a yank 3200 (has no markings or stickers), it's not terrible to drive with it but it def could use more converter. I will probly run this till I 80 swap and get a nice ptc, or circle d. Something smaller like a 10" 3600 with a tripple disk lock up. It comes alive more in the 33-3400 range I think because of the intake. It is an audible difference and seems to want to spin! I'm probly shifting it early too at 6300. It's still pulling quite hard up there.

I got the converter from a friend for almost nothing so if I decide to change it I have almost nothing invested in it other than time. But it really isn't a big deal at all to drive as is. It dosent buck, surge or stumble. Like a lot of other big cams do and driving at interstate speeds with it locked up it has way more power for passing. It dosent kick down like it used to either to pull small hills. I have to pull a car to Oklahoma in a few weeks with it well see how it does with that. Used to be a total dog when towing. And get 7mpg doing so with 24' enclosed loaded/empty, 13mpg loaded open 18' car hauler struggled greatly with both... No *****!

Where are you guys with 3200 stalls flashing to? I know torque output plays a big role in it. But 400rpm is quite off IMO.

Is it an 11" converter? The TT series? Yank doesn't make a 3200 if so. he makes a 3000 or a 2600. By the sounds of it you got your hands on a 2600. The 3000 will flash to 3000 even behind a bolt on 5.3.

Also, I definitely wouldnt cross yank off the list for the 80e... my converter gives me almost exactly 2800 stall speed if not a hair more, but its really efficient up top.

Glad to hear it still runs strong though! Can you get a video of it?

Not bad I'm gonna get a circle d I think from a guy on here with a multidisk 3200 for the 60e and run it for a bit and also do some more tuning. I want the rev limiter raised to 7k and there is an surge at about 1500rpm when it's cruising nothin too crazy tho. Also will raise the shift points in Trans as well. I'll post a vid.... It wants rpm and it's shifting at like 5200 on wot. Kinda lazy too like the shitty fins in converter are laying over. I think I'm gonna do the big walbro and racetronics hotwire and do the flex fuel conversion for play time. It's not running lean or out of pump at the moment just wanna get ready for the switch. I'm runnin 60 injectors and they are only at 30%. Just feels like it should have more to it. Ill get it ironed out, like every new build has a few bugs. It's completely drivable as is tho, I just know it's got more in it. It will be a totally different animal on e85 with some timing.

Yea that needs some work. A converter is a must, especially with your mods. It sounds like it is just starting to come alive and then it shifts.. Who is doing your tuning?

Excessive Autosports did it out of Sioux Falls, SD. Lol ya I was like let it spin it's got a tunnel ram on it, should pull 7k with ease. Lol weather has been shitty anyhow lately. Almost thought about a 3600 stall just to help it get out of the hole. Weighs 5600 with me in it. What you guys think?

I would go with a 3200-3600 stall speed in whatever diameter you personally like. I typically like a tighter converter (larger diameter) for daily driving but that is just my personal taste. I would also put gears in it too. The right cam, converter, and gear combo is the key.

It's got 411 in it now it's got factory height tires on it too with gm accessory 20" wheels that aren't light. Ya I'd like a 3600 but man I daily it and don't know if I wanna deal with the extra heat associated with it. It comes alive at 33-3400 you may be able to hear in vid. It's not a dog by any means down low just noticeably different up there.
