So I did some serious cleaning and painting in the engine bay today to start off, and it came out really good. Here are some pics as I went along.

Default More of the finished product

Then my oil pan showed up a day early, so I got that cleaned up and installed (The right way this time!)lol.

I am just about ready to get the motor in. Have some more work to do tomorrow like fuel pump, remove remaining exhaust, and clean/paint/install motor mounts to the engine. Once that is done, I will be ready to drop her in Wed as I can get someone over here to help me get it in so i dont bang up my work trying to do it all by myself. lol

Weather has been a real bitch, but I have still been getting some things done. Completely finished cleaning the engine bay, and have now gotten the SBC mounts cleaned, painted, and installed on the motor. Also I have gotten the crank pully cleaned, painted, and installed on the engine. I am in the process of doing the pinning kit now, and installing the new longer ARP hardened crank bolt as well. I removed all of the old exhaust from the truck also so there is nothing in the way once the motor is in to get the new system fabbed up.

About the only thing that I have left that I can do by myself at this point is getting the fuel tank dropped, and the new pump installed. On this note, I have a question that some of you may be able to answer. I have 2 different pumps, and am not sure which of the two is the better one to run. The two that I have are the AC Delco #EP381 which carries a GM part# of 25163473, and the Granatelli Motorsports GM722-2 which I know is a 98-02 F body 255LPH in tank pump that I believe will work on my truck as well. So which of the 2 is the better one to run?

Default Yesterday was a huge day for me here...

The engine, Trans and converter went in the truck yesterday! Was a little bit of a challenge getting it all in and lined up right to the SBC mounts, but it is in.

First thing that we did was getting the engine off the stand, and replacing the flexplate as I found it to be bent.

Then had to prep the converter...it is a SC2800 From Yank. Pump side is the old style 4L60E style, and flexplate side is the new LS 4L60E style.

THANKS AGAIN DAVE!!!

The FLT Level 4 LT style 4L60E

This trans was in the ruck as of 2,000 miles before the swap so I retained it rather than getting another $1,900 transmission.
Then the engine after some rounds finds it,s new home!!!
