Default The new LowNslo

Well as some of you know, I picked up a new to me 2001 reg cab truck this past weekend. I wanted to make a project thread, because lets face it, this mod bug never ends. So pictures and info will be added as I go along.

Truck is a 2001 close to 120k miles on it
5.3 with full bolt ons
224/230 .588/.588 114 LSA comp xer lobe cam
comp 918 .600 lift springs with new trunion upgraded rockers and comp pushrods
Baer front disk brakes with Hawk pads at all four corners
Rear disk also
Front and rear Hotchkis tvs sway bars
Detroit Tru-trac with a 3.73 oem gear
Built 4l60 by Wiley in round rock, tx

Plans are as follows:
6.0 lq4 soon and swap the cam currently in the 5.3
Kb racing turbo 76 mm set up later down the road
obviously a 4l80 soon there after.

Goal for the truck is to run in the 11's while still keeping it very streetable and letting my wife drive it some as well. My ext cab truck ran the numbers I wanted (11.93 @ 114) so I feel confident that mid 11's are very realistic with this truck.

First order of agenda is to paint the tailgate and roll pan and fix a few cosmetic things on the truck. I will also paint the mirror caps when I do the roll pan and gate, might see what my time looks like and do the bumper and top cap as well. I will be looking locally for a z71 tahoe lower valance with foglights since these lights have no glass nor do they work.

Also need to get a new grille and hood soon.

I have already taken off the black titan wheels and replaced them with OEM SSS wheels with some Yokohama tires 275/45/20. Looking to get a set of the stock 17's and have the two I currently have widened for some M&H 325/50/17 radials.

before:

After:

I spent about 10 hours just cleaning (not detailing) and washing the truck from top to bottom, cleaned under the truck and wiped down all the suspension parts, greased all the joints and bushings, checked the suspension bolts and sway bar bolts, made sure everything was tight and ready to roll. I will hopefully have some pics after I do some polishing this weekend if time allows, It needs a full correction on the current paint. Many of you know how particular I am about how my vehicles are kept and this one will be no exception, I plan on cleaning the engine bay when the motor comes out and might replace inner fenders and most of the hoses to save myself some misery down the road. Anyway these are cell phone pics because the weather hasn't allowed me to take any with the good camera yet

Great start!

I say black out the wheels and get rid of the chrome bumper. Love the green, same color as mine.

He's already bought it. Just needs a few touch ups and should be good to go.

I have purchased the motor, I need to find time to get it and get some head studs and some lifters and several other things, not gonna get in a major hurry, cost ya money when ya try to do things fast. I plan on spraying the gate and roll pan Sunday if I finish a few details I have lined up....... Then going to help a friend fix a few things on his truck he is selling. It's gonna be busy for a little bit and I won't do the swap until I find a truck that I am looking for to drive everyday.
