It runs, drives, stops, and gets everything in the engine bay waaay too hot. But is what it is i guess because turbo truck.. sucker is pretty loud tho and drones with the huge exhaust, guess thats a good thing so it drowns out the fuel pump and 12bolt gear whine..lol

I'd consider a couple louver plates in the hood, get that thing venting some of that heat.

thanks, id consider maybe doing fender vents like morgan came up with by turbo but not sure about hood vents, its got a functioning cowl on it. Its mainly just from Proximity heat from the manifolds, my brake stuff and plug wires/coils get really hot

Man those wheels look killer on it!! I plan on eventually getting a set of those in 15x9 to put on mine. I got mine on the road a couple months ago, had the same problem with underhood heat. It was 100+ outside at the time, but after a few minutes of driving the hood was soo hot you couldn't touch it. Had a local guy make my some dimple died hood vents to go on my cowl hood, they helped alot the few miles I drove it after install.

Thanks i really like the wheels as well, i cut the center caps down some since those pics also
Things have gotten slightly better since motor and stuff has broken in with less heat, but Yeah im having an airflow problem now. Truck actually slowly heats up going down the road at 40+mph if my efans arent on, then will cool down if they kick on at same speed. And all i can come up with is because motor is so close to front and not enough room for air to move around. Ive tried to get as much air out of the cooling system as i can but with so much surface area stuff under the hood that gets hot it just gets out of control and lack of good airflow.
i think mr jroy is right and im going to have to put vents in the hood and maybe cut a little more away from the fender wells. Thinking some gnx style vents over each header will help as its suppose to be a good heat extraction point. I thought cowl would be good enough but that a tually sucks air in from windshield area while driving and i figure its fighting the little air i have coming in up front..

Thought about that after watching some dragweek vids from this week, but in all honesty the hood pins are a major pain to align and the hood is the worst panel on the truck with touch ups and dents so i might as well. My only concern is washing it after and keeping water out..

The clearance between the radiator and motor definitely causes a lot of heat issues. I’m running the griffin radiator that all the s10 guys use, also no inner fenders. Had to move the intercooler from in front of the radiator for it to stay a decent temp even on the highway.
Have you had had a chance to weigh it yet? You should easily reach your goal of 3800. We are running pretty much the same drivetrain (you have way nicer parts though lol) except I run a zr2 8.5 rear and mine weighed 3450 without me.

the 12bolt weighs more than 8.5, but cant be more than 100lbs so i should be under id hope, def feels like more pep than my SS when it comes to easier to get up to speed/less weight lol

Added some heat shield material to couple spots and changed my fan settings and the cooler weather all seem to help.
Looks like they changed upload stuff and cant get pics to attach.
did first wot launch, data says with a huge 1psi built up it did 0-60 in 3.03sec and 0-90 in 5.7sec, and that was lifting for a sec to 55% throttle. all on WG spring and 9lbs total.
I know thats just all a bunch of Data log bs and no vid but im only one guy with no one who cares enough to video, felt good tho lol
