well bringing this one back from the dead for some updates...if you click the link on the post SBChvy posted we ended up finding out that I did have the longer crank so I decided to bring my 6.0 to the machine shop...

its been there for a month or so(told the guy I wasnt in a hurry) and it should be done in a few week...hes got the block punched out and ready to go and same with the heads...heads are stock 317's just cleaned up and the plan is to use a stroker crank...hes working up some cam specs for me and CR as well...I told him want I wanted and hes going to run with it...

this past weekend Andy(SBChvy) and I took out the ol 4.8 and cleaned the engine bay up to make way for the new motor...its nice to feel like I have topped the hill if you will of tear down...now its time to start to put the truck back together...

I still need to get my 14 bolt from GMracer and get that ready, get a new clutch, wire all my gauges in, install motor and trans and then tune the bitch...the goal is to have it running and driving before August and just run it around for the rest of the summer...this winter I hope to pull it back in the shop and repaint in and clean up the interior...might even go with a turbo upgrade

-custom built = custom problems

I havnt even driven the truck yet and I already got a different turbo...I got a Garrett gt4202r ball bearing water cooled from thunder550...I cant wait to get this thing going but good things come to those who wait, or so they say...lol

here are the pics I took a couple weekends ago from when we took the motor out...kinda blurry but you get the idea...

after power washing the engine bay and frame, gettin ready for some paint...

heres the chassis painted...the rear is getting replaced so no need to waste paint

still lots of work to do...hope to get some time in the next few weeks to continue working on it...

I will give it a listen when I get on my PC I can't play the video from my phone because I don't have the most current version of Flash. What RPM range did that cam perform in? When did it start pulling and where did you shift? I have a LS1 that will get mine and a set of TEA 5.3 1.5s on top in my Samurai so I am very curious.

well my 5 speed did not co-operate with high rpms shifts(hence why I put in the t56)...so 1st gear Id have to shift at like 5800 or it grind like a *****...all other gears I shifted around 6000 to 6200...but like I said, my trans was very tired so Im sure you'll be able to take your motor up higher with no problem...
