It's Blackbear tuned, just gotta get a scan cable from Justin. He said other than some tricky idle learning, the tune that's on it should at least be able to make it run for the time being.

Sorry I didn't get the chance to update yesterday was busy working on everything.

Both heads are on and torqued, the cam is in. I didn't take as many pictures as I originally wanted to... I get on a roll and forget to even take them... I did get a couple though yesterday

New heads on, Timing cover reinstalled. Exhaust manifolds gone.

That's where we left it last night. So far, we've got 3.5 hours on it on Friday, and we got 12 hours to work on it yesterday, not including lunch and dinner break. today I've got about 6 hours before he has to leave, so hopefully I can get everything back together.

I'm just praying my head gaskets last more than 10 miles... honestly, everything has worked out entirely too easy up to this point.

Guys... I need some help.

I got everything together, and started it up... idled down to 800. SES light started blinking, I figured it was because it wasn't used to the 36# injectors... shut it off and started adding coolant to it, I got about a gallon and a half in, and it started pouring out on the floor. It seems like it's coming from the drivers side, at the back of the motor... I'm praying I missed a coolant line that I couldn't see... In a realistic world, I think it's the head gasket.

Alright, figured it out, didn't know about the coolant crossover on the back, just need to pull the blocking plates off the old heads and get the on the the new ones, then fill it with coolant... again.

More like sank... the last thing I wanted to do was have to pull the driver side head again. I'll throw those plates on after work, and give everything another check and fire it up again tonight... it sounds mean with the open Y-pipe. much too loud for my taste, but at least I know how much lope I'm going to have.

did you torque the heads in steps? 25, 50, 75 head bolts? then 10, 15, 23 on the small bolts? just curious...looking good man

the paper that came with my ARP bolts said 25 for the small bolts, so I torqued them 10, 18, 25, all the other ones were 25,50,75 and went in a pattern that I found online for LS head swaps.

So, hopefully tonight, I get to roll it out of the shop. I'll get an idle clip with the open y, it'll probably be this weekend before I get time to put the mufflers on it.

And, if it doesn't blow up, I'll finally be able to put my PT.net sticker on it. It just didn't feel right putting it on a nearly stock truck

It's alive, just slightly wounded... it's still bleeding a slow drip of coolant from somewhere... I'll have to find it tomorrow.
