My 8.1 Silverado project

Well the stock intake all the air flows in from the TB and gets necked down thru the bottom. pretty much thru a 2.300 x 2.300 square then comes back thru the middle of the intake then goes up around then down intake the intake port. People making more power with these motors say the stock intake limits power output due to its design. So without spending a bunch of jack on making a billet intake. And raylar wont sell the intake he has that i wanted to use.
This one

He stated I had to buy the complete motor and transom for 50 k to get it. Because I surely could not make enough power in a truck to use it correctly.
Here is some other available options I am not completely found of.

Anyhow Since this is a BBC with LS1 style heads. But on the ls1 they didnt make the intake retarded like they did on the 8.1. I decided since my other options where in the 3-5k range, to go ahead and fix a stock intake since the dimensions would already be there. So think LT1 or a newer viper intake

So I machined the top of the intake off. Going to make a new upper plenum and make it so i can use various TB's stock etc. To fix the stock intake restriction. I also have to fix the injector angle and big bump in the intake port to clear the injector. I cant use tall injectors with a stock fuel rail anyhow because of its design. So I am putting injectors straight up so I can use any height injector I want. And probably with the turbo I am going to use my lighting 1700 cfm mono blade tb. So i think that will fix my air flow issues. I also plan on running e85 So I bought some 85 pound injectors that fit both stock intake and my new design intake. So far I got about 9 hours of labor and 200 bucks in aluminum into it.
