its been done and driving. been trying to tune myself since pretty much no of the places ive contacted seem to want my business

ended up switching injectors to some Bosch 72lb
trying to figure out my wastegate, 13lb spring but only seeing about 10lbs so trying to figure if its a boost leak or just pressure loss on the IC
waiting on new gasket for my X over pipe to it just developed a leak so waiting to get that fixed before doing more pump gas tuning then ill get meth spraying and tune for that.

Leave spring alone and just it's a Turbonetics boost t in to control boost pressure. There cheap under 100 bucks then you can control your boost. Cheap, easy, and effective..

im not wanting to go over 13lbs however i want to know why its only making 10 or so lbs with a 13lb spring

Tial gates generally hit right on so i either have a leak somewhere or my IC is losing 2-3psi of pressure drop

Nope no leaks I bet, the amount of boost varies as to what the wg is actually seeing as a reference and also if back pressure on the hotside can effect this as well basically the boost t allows you to alter the signal of reference to the wg and making it boost your desired target. Unless you hear whistling etc. you may have a leak.

It may not make sense but trust me lol it works, also seemed to help with lag. I'll never run a spring again. I normally just use the 7psi spring and command whatever boost I want with the t, even well beyond the spring value. You can also use a fancy boost controller to do the same.

I was seeing that with my Godspeed wastegate too. They say the springs are 7 psi each and you can double them up for 14. On one spring I was getting 5psi to the manifold and with both my tuner called and said he was only seeing 10, whcih makes sense I guess. Both were with the boost controller backed all the way off. Wastegate is referenced right off my compressor housing and the gauge is at the intake manifold.

yea im pullin reference for the WG off the comp housing, boost gauge in a vac manifold off the manifold.

i may throw a boost gauge to the hot side to see how much pressure loss im getting after the intercooler

I know how a boost controller works, ive used them many times however ive never had a tial WG not do target boost. if its a 13lb spring its usually right at 13lbs

anything thing is im mapped in KPA, im getting into the 160KPA on my logs and next setup up is 180 so i guess that means i coiuld actually be going to 179kpa which would would put me at my target boost

another thing is actual baro pressure changes here, it can range from 13.5-14.2 so i know that makes a difference. Pulled up a conversion chart and it showed me about 13.5. So i gotta see what my peak KPA is showing not just going off the histogram which shows 160

Ya regardless of wg used I've done this with all.. Exhaust back pressure is the issue.. Id also look for exhaust leaks before turbo..

Good luck hope it helps nice truck!

so you think it doesnt have enough exhaust back pressure or to much?

To much would over boost generally, not enough would under boost but at that point the WG would close if it wasnt hitting target pressure.

ive never had a issue in the past with WG not doing target just on spring pressure alone, even with cheap ebay EMUSA wg's.

I do have 1 leak on exhaust side but im waiting on a new gasket to show up for that other than that i havent found any. Im still going to do a boost leak test, also just to be curious gonna toss a boost gauge on my hot side pipe to see what pressure loss im seeing

It varies with exhaust housings. Etc I'd fix your leak and try it again. You could also try moving your reference to the intake instead of compressor housing. Then it goes by what the engine is seeing instead of what it's boosting I personally use that port for jobs switch to turn on secondary fuel pumps.

This will vote out intercooler pressure drop..

Moving your reference for wg may do what you want. Cheap/ easy to try it's just vacuum hose lol
