Thought I'd let everyone see what was happening in the next step. Incase you don't know I started out with this 06 GMC Sierra RCSB with a 4.3 V6 and wanted something to blow the doors off Mustang GT's. So I pulled the cam and had it reground just a tad. Put 202 manley valves in and shorty headers with a larger TB. a set of 4.10's and a 100 shot. Was fun but not fast enough.
So in went the 6.0 LS. Comp Cam ( 224 dur and 581-588 lift ) And went crazey decided to go Carb. Thru a motor or two and ended up with a forged 410 c.i. with 11 to 1 compression. Still carbed and have ran 11.27 @ 119 something on a 100 shot. Now have took bed off and am going to a ford 9" with 4.33 gears, ladder bars and coilovers. with 29x10.5x15W hoosiers. Also front coilovers. Oh yea puting about 4 " in the wheel wells.
Here are a couple pics so far..........

Had Cal tracs and hadn't made any adjustment yet.As I put more nitrous to it I was getting more tire spin. I was going to have to do some modifcations to the cal trac to be able to adjust the nut on the back side.So when we decided to narrow the rearend change to 9" ends and coilovers with disc brakes, decided to change to ladder bars. It was going to be all tore apart any way. Now have decided to just put a 9" in and I sold everything else. Just found a spool and pro set of 4.30 Mark Willams gears. Will order moser axles to complete this suspension.

Axles should be in tuesday or wednesday. 35 spline. They have all the brackets welded on the frame and the 9" and rearend is getting powdercoated. Have to get the spool and gears in and put it in the truck. Then put on the disc brakes and have the driveshaft redone. These pics are of everything just tacked in .
If everything goes right should be seing what she'll do friday nite at test and tune. They have a big labor day meet that weekend, hope I can be there.

Well ran into a glich, when they started to put gears in, they found that the pro gears bearing size was bigger and the stock 9" case wouldn't work. So have to get a different case.
But have made some progress. The bed is done after wheel tubs where widened and the fuel cell postion was boxed in and everything painted it turned out nice. The axles came in and the 9" housing finished and powder coated.
Our local track has canceled friday nite T&T and the first day of a 2 day event, due to rain sent fom Isaac. We need the rain but not on weekends. They plan on stuffing 2 days of racing into 1 day sunday "If it quits raining today". The pits will be "the Pits" with all this rain.
Here are a few pics...........

Well got the pickup home and was planning on going to the track tonight, but it"s too cold and the wind is blowing. They will be open 3 more weeks and it will be sundays during the day so hopefully it will be warmer. A recap on what was done.............9" ford rearend with full spool and 4.30 gears with new 35 spline axles. Ladder bars and QA1 coilovers. And changed from drum brakes to disc . That was a chore. Also mini tubbed. New 29 X 10.5W Hoosier slicks.
Here are a few pics.......
