I'd recommend checking the rotating assembly for oil starvation while you're replacing that pan, since the filter and pan seem to have been destroyed in the accident. Hopefully the driver turned the key off at the time of the accident.

Taking it to a shop that built my GTOs engine and have them look it over and make sure everything is fine with it.

Do a small cam while its out, even if its only an ls6 cam. Those h.o. 5.3s benefit a lot since they already have good heads and higher compression. Wish I had found one for the s10...
