Default LVL 4 FLT 80e Swap into an '04 SSS

This is the beginning, in preparation for a Magnuson TVS 2300 Jackshaft for my 2004 Silverado SS with 29,xxx original miles - near flawless condition. Decided to go with a LVL 4 FLT 4l80e and Circle D 258mm multi disk w/3k stall.

Making progress! Started Fri. the 31st around noon and worked on it Sat. from about 10 till 5pm. Got the new FLT & Circle D installed, new 80 cooler lines installed - Part #'s: 15267484, 15812029, Dipstick installed, Transfer Case taken apart, installed new shaft, re-assembled case with GM engine sealant part # 12378521, main driveshaft cut down to 168-3/4" from ear to ear (Shortened by 1-7/8") by Inland Truck Parts (did an awesome job for $169.00), Trans. plug modded and new speed sensor ran into PCM.

All I have left is to install the Transfer Case and drive shafts which I hope to complete after work Monday or Tuesday. I have to say, it was a little intimidating at first since the extent of my Automotive experience has been only a brake job, but once I got started tearing everything down, it went pretty smooth.

Special thanks to my Brother, Ralph who's letting me use his Firestone shop with all the amenities of a lift, trans. jack, etc., Tech Brandon who let me use some of his tools, Chuck from FLT for great Customer Service and for what I hope to be an awesome Trans, Chris from Circle D and ShawnSS for your awesome post on how to do this. It would have been HELL doing this project inside my Garage off jack stands!

Good job brotha! That is a pretty big task for someone to go tackle it! Maybe it will inspire some others to go after some things. Let us know how you like the 80 and how it launches of course!

Thanks! Yeah, my Brother was a master Tech for Chevy and is now the Store Mgr. for Firestone. He's been giving me some much needed guidance and helped me get the converter seated properly. It's really not that hard once you start tearing into things, plus I took a lot of pics before I took everything apart so I know how to put it back together!

Here's a few more pics...

Awesome! I went through the same thing this past fall! You're gonna love it. Is that a 9.5" circle D? Did you go witht he multi disc? I'm going to be realyl curious to see how high this thing flashes.

Do you have a cam?

Thanks, I hope so! It's the 258mm multi disk w/3k stall. I originally told him a 2800 but Chris said I would get better performance with the 3k so I switched it at the last minute. I definitely don't want the stall to much with the supercharger. We'll see if he nailed it or not...I'll keep you updated.

Here is a video of my yank 2800 in action... I have heard the circle D coverters tend to stretch a little more under a lot of power (boost) too. Even my 2800 is looser than I expected it to be.

I have logged 2800 slip out of this converter, but it appeared higher because it jumped to 7 MPH so quick that by the time its logging 2800 slip the tach is reading 3800 RPM.

I heard Chris is a very good builder so I can't wait to see how the new stall changes it from stock...even before I put the Maggie on it.

Bro, that video's F****** awesome! Sweet ride you have too! I have a little cam that mounts to the windshield too...can't wait to do **** like that once I get it all modded out.

To answer your ? from earlier, no cam yet. I only have Dynatechs, Corsa Sport, Volant CAI, stat, NGK plugs, wires and Zippy tune.

I think I'll start out with just 8 - 10 psi and pulley down from there once I get the motor beefed up a little to handle the extra boost. That Jackshaft should give me some room to grow.

Glad you like it... preview of coming attractions for you!!!

And you're damn right that blower will give you room to grow lol. **** even a non jack shaft 2300 can push more boost than you would want to run on the stock short block anyway. I see heads and a cam in your future...

That said I didnt know they made a jack shaft 2300 that was compatible with truck accessories and the cathedral heads. Where did you get it from?
