LSXRT 102 install in a tbss
#1
I recently installed a fast LSXRT 102 in my 06 tbss , just figured id share my install. Purchased my intake used. Only real problem I ran into was being a unit off a silverado I had to plug the front evap port since mine was different . I ended up gently taping it with 1/4" NPT and plugging the location where the silverado had the evap . Was a little hairy but it worked.
The manifold sure doesn’t look like it should cost what it does when you have it in hand . But hopefully the gains are there .
-I used a stock ported TB
- Ebay Ls1 fuel rail kit, had to add my own ¾” spacers at the rail mounts.

But I mainly needed these because the rail sat on the vacuum port without them (pic below )

- Moved evap to rear firewall
-With the wiring , I wanted to run the harness under the TB.
I had to extend the passenger side coil pack wires, injector wires for cylinders 8 and 6 , and the wires for the map and in my case the evap . All wires were soldered and double heat shrink wrapped .
- Now worst of all was smashing in the firewall , I couldn’t believe how much it had to go in .
The best method for this was some wood and the bottle jack, with some final fines with a 3lb sledge .
-Upon start up I was surprised to see the engine sounded different , you can almost hear a echo in the intake manifold. Hard to explain it.
I wont have any dyno numbers, ill just have to wait and see how I do at the strip
Final pics

Wish I could clean this side up more

And the random during pics

Why I like having a truck. Holley Hi-Ram here...what clearance issues? LOL
Looks good though man, hope you get some decent gains out of it for all the work you had to put into it to make it fit.

make sure you get a tuner who's done these. I went back and forth with my tuner forever, then finally sent the computer to a different tuner and now it runs perfect. Too bad i'd already swapped my lsxrt out for a nnbs thinking it was the intake manifold causing the issues.
