Hello Iam interested in swapping a 5.3 into my 86 c10 Chevy. But first I would like to ask if anyone has made a chassis swap from a 2004 Tahoe will my cab and bed fit with out to much trouble I thought this might give me more of an advantage with all the 2004 goodies larger wheels, brakes, gas tank, suspension just for a few.Has any one done this before. Chevy wheelbase is 117" the Tahoe is 116" wheelbase. Thanks I need all the help I can get.

 

Defiantly the way to do it.

 

There is a guy that did this with a square body and an SS frame on here, just a post or two under you with the extra cutout to make the wheelbase correct. I plan on using a tahoe or yukon and swapping my 68 shortbed onto for the same reason as you, just waiting on a buyer for my ls swapped frame and suspension parts to fund the project.
