Default new heart

So I went up to phoenix today to help a friend move and look for a 5.3 short/long block and found myself a new engine for Mia.

05 iron block has 25,000 on the clock

dished pistons, it's not a 4.8!!

and all the cylinders look good this time!

had some help with the build today,

but the block doesn't say 5.3 for some reason...

should have all the help i want from now on, the sad part is everyone who wants to help is learning too. so I have a ton of people and no expertise.

got it for a hell of a deal!

looks like a lq4, doesnt matter since its an 05 they are very similar, except the price, lq4 has dished pistons, lq9's are flat. both are very stout motors

i guess its a lq4, I didn't know the differance between them, I just know it was a 6.0 long block with low miles in great condition for $500. well $500 plus a trip to phx wich is 5 houres and alot of gas.

anyone know what the compression will be with ls6 heads. they are stock 64cc combustion chamber.

now I need to upgrade my intake and fuel system, but I already had plans that should still work with the 6.0

I believe it's going to be 10.2:1. I have a post on different heads on an LQ4 in the internal mods section. Check it out, lots of good info there.
