I live in northwest tucson, there are a ton of us truck and f-body guys in az, but it seems that everyone is in phx. kinda sucks I'm confident in my work, but i would like to have someone close by who had a little more knowledge. this is my first engine build I have built on my own, and the first time I will have everything to finish the project I have.

 

got this little beauty in yesterday tsp220 .581/.581 on a 112lsa, should make the idle nice and lopey. the engine will growl and talk **** for me at stoplights




I'm on my way up to phx tomorrow to look at a few different engines, I should have 4-5 to pick from that are all $500 or lower except for one aluminum block 5.3, mileage ranges from 25,000-49,000. I sold one of my mountain bikes so I shouldn't have any extra money out of pocket. now I just have to get rid of an old rifle I have, and some leftover ar15 carbine parts. but I was planning on getting rid of those anyways.

anyways, i'll post pics up tomorrow of whatever i come home with.

 

Dang that will be nuts! thats the cam im looking at its a great performer, in your truck it should see low 12's with ease!

what cam are you looking at? I haven't heard a single bad thing about this cam for the 5.3s which is why I got it.

i'm hoping that this thing takes a big turn for the better tomorrow after I pick up an engine.

 

Yes the 706 with batery logo but I thought anything with that logo might have issues. The logo refers to the company that manufactured them... wish i had that TSB so I could re read it....

 

I feel like an ertard now. damn, I hope everything is okay with them, i doubt that gm would replace them now that they have been ported...

 

Like I said I wish I still had the TSB. I know for sure the 706 heads with that specific LOGO had issues. I will see If I can Get it pulled up and printed out tommorrow if I can remember. Just thought I would mention it. Didn't know you already ported them though....

 

Im going to either get the tsp 220 or tr220/220, with 3200 stall and bolt ons.
blue cajun ran the tr220 into very low 13's IIRC
