It kills me when guys do ls swaps on these.
I hear that good heads, cam, carb and a nitrous plate lets those cubes do what cubes do...

Everyone was down on HP back then. It's pretty torquey for the era, though. Compared to other 1/2 ton trucks from other brands in the same years, it's a tire destroyer...and will respond to mods, of course. Yes it's tricky to do much with the stock TBI setup, but at least these days you have way better options for tuning than back when these trucks were new.

I think an 8.1 would tuck nicely into that engine compartment

That is sick. I would drive the **** out of that, until I ran out of gas. Always wanted to LSX454 swap one of those, keeping the original big inch aspect of it but with triple the power.

Great looking obs and looks like you stole it. TH400 or 4L80E? I would love to build an obs. I occasionally miss my '92 even though it was a 2wd 305 lwb turd. Lol!

Thanks for all the nice comments, its true its not fast but I just like to have a good old short bed, besides I have what I think is a pretty fast truck in the garage that used to be my DD.

One day I'll buy one of those. Always wanted one with headers and dual 3 inch just to cruise around with. By the way you stole that thing for $3,000
