Turbo or supercharger if you really want to make that power with a 5.3 displacment.

Build a bigger engine out of it if you want to get that high NA.

Yeah you could bore it out, you could make it like a 370+ or something if you wanted too.

The stock bottom end on a LM7 should be alright for a little over 500hp before the connecting rods will become a factor.

So many factor come into play with NA power on a 5.3, all comes down to what parts you use. Like how big of a cam, cylinder heads, injectors, intake manifold, headers and the tune. Also where you live and fuel quality.

Just a guess on power with a LM7 with a decent cam, cylinder head work, headers, tune etc etc could be around 400 crank hp. Again there are just a lot of factors. The sure fire way to 500hp is a boosted setup.

All comes down to your budget really. Best reliable bet would be a trick turbo kit. They could hook you up with all you need, get ahold of Stock48 (Jarrett) for a cam. pm me if you want this info

Do you plan on running pump gas or e85?

do a mild rebuild with a cam and a turbo kit. Keep to 93 pump gas if you dont know where e85 is locally to you.

I think you should do the engine build, send heads to machine shop for 5thou mill, head gaskets, lifters.... the usual. Get the truck running first.

Then look into turbo or blower.

Stick to EFI. Some 60 lbers and a walbro pump would be perfect for your goals.

if u dont wanna send it to a shop i would swap some 4.8 flat top pistons in there a 220 cam, 918 springs, and a 3k stall and of course intake long tubes and tune and you will be more then surprised.

prob cheapest and its a proven combo.

BUTTTTTT if u want to go crazy take it apart send to a shop bore it out and do the same steps ^ but with parts that fit and make more POWAAAAA
