Truck looks great going down the track man! Me and GMCtrk just moved to 15x10 wheels and both of us are running Mickey's 315/60-15. I'll be interested to see what you go with.

Being that our local track just changed hands and the new owners called in someone to super-prep the track for their first real street/275 race and there was a cold front passing thru, I took the truck out for some TNT Friday night. The track was sticking like glue so each pass I was trying to add in some more power to bring the 60' down. Even though I didn't get the 6 second pass I was striving for I did break a 1.5 short time and 100mph. I still have some bugs to work out. Trans was sliding pretty bad on the 1-2 shift regardless of the additional pressure I was dialing in the tune. Fuel pumps are maxed out as fuel pressure was dropping in the upper rpms.

I also built a 1/4 wave resonator and installed it last weekend. Started out at 32" to do some testing. Verdict is still out but I believe it knocked the edge off the noise in the 1800-2200 range. I would like to move it up a few hundred rpm into the interstate cruising range.

I couldn't stand the ride with the Hotchkis springs anymore so a few weekends ago I pulled them out and put in the stock leafs with removed overload and some 2" shackles I had laying around just to see how it would change the ride.
The ride was great but the stance was awful! So I ordered the parts to flip the axle and put the stock shackles back on.
I was concerned about the trans yolk depth after doing the flip so I took some pics during the process. This is with the 2" shackle and overload removed. You can see the polish/wear marks from the previous 4" drop.
Everything mocked up prior to drilling new locator in the perch. Cheap Crown spring plates from Summit required some modification to fit and still aren't right. I am in the process of building some new plates incorporating traction bar mounts and tie-downs that I will swap out this weekend.
Trans yolk was way too far in the trans and wheel was ~3/4" forward in the wheel well.
So I drilled new spring locator in perch 3/4" back from center.
Put everything back together loosely, set pinion angle 3 degrees down and checked trans yolk. Much better...
Then welded the perches to the axle...
and put it on the ground...
Next morning in the light... Rear is ~1/2" lower than the front now.
After a test drive, discovered a bit of a tire scrub problem...
I think once the fenders are rolled and traction bars are on this won't be a problem. I also have to change out the rear shocks as the QA1's only have about an inch of compression now before they bottom out. I am going to throw a set of old Doetsch's in temporarily until I do the front coil-overs when I will get a set of matching rears the right length.

Its 3". I also recently shortened it to 28" and it did move the cut frequency up in to the low 2K range. Doing some reverse calculations to determine exhaust sound speed, I think 23" is what's going to get it in the 2500 rpm range I want for interstate driving.

Hey what did you not like about the leaf springs? Just too soft or too hard?
... are they for sale now?
Also, I saw your truck at the '14 LS fest and thought someone had stolen mine haha. I have the same year and same color combo
