Default Don't call it a rat rod

So this is my next project. I'm probably getting in WAY over my head, but you never know if you can swim till you jump into the deep end.

It's a 47-54 Chevy pickup cab. Honestly I'm not sure which year exactly, and I don't really care. Plans are to chop it, build a 2x3 or 2x4 frame, bag it all around, LS w/ a turbo, and then rally the **** out of it. Still thinking through a lot of the build still. And I'm a poor bastard, so this will probably take a LONG time. I just got excited cause a finally drug it to my shop, so tinkering can commence.

Im undecided if i want a bed at all. My thoughts right now are to use a jeep TJ/XJ 2wd front axle. Solid beam style front, modern discs and unit bearings. Not sure on the steering, thats still up in the air. Four linked and bagged front. Two link (truck arm style) with a watts or maybe a wishbone third link in the rear.

I guess you didn't see this... I found it yesterday while looking for something else. Check out the finish product with fenders on it.

Oh and although its not a chevy check this rig out too!!! It's a diesel and a straight axle in the front.
