Yeah, actually it would be closer then a 305/70R17. As my above post shows, most 305/70r17s run around 33.5 inches tall. A 305/70r16 runs closer to a 33.

Presentation is everything!!!

The 305/70r17 looked like it was going to be the best fit for a stock wheel. The 65 series recommended a wider wheel. It really comes right down to what I can get the best deal on when I am ready to buy something.

I am thinking there is a 325/50r16 or something like that, that looks killer on the right wheels. I don't want to totally kill my fuel mileage with a wide tire, but I do want to fill out those factory flares.

I think Dlt's comments were more based on why I am silly for the setup of my truck then the actual dimensions of the tire. He is a fan of a different style of vehicle, I don't hold that against him, he just needs to learn to voice his opinions differently.

I understand completely. I had a set of 375/55/r16s on an 83 3/4 ton and loved them until a built motor, four speed, and big tires busted the t-case. Either way you go it will look good.
I have a 96 2 door tahoe 4x4 now and I also need to make my mind up what size tire and wheel to put under it. Anyways, good luck with the build I like it.

I tell you, with a different offset on my wheels, the brown truck would be perfect. Although with a different offset the tires would stick out and throw mud on my windshield again. I don't use my truck for rock crawling so flex isn't an issue, although it only rubs at full lock on a HARD bump (like a tree stump at 35 mph), and it has only done that maybe 3 times in 2 years. I use the truck for running through the woods where ground clearance is needed or in mud. I don't take it mudding, but you might find it chained to something else that is in the mud. If I want to go offroading I will take the big gokart or a 4 wheeler.

If I wanted flex, I certainly wouldn't have rebuilt the front end of the truck with all poly bushings, and stiffened everything including the sway bar up. To sit as far off the ground as it does, it handles better then most 4 door sedans. In fact a kid in a lowered toyota pickup tried to keep up with me on my way home one evening and found himself sliding backwards into oncoming traffic. (I took a 25 MPH curve at 85MPH trying to get the kid off my back bumper)

If you were close, I would make you a deal you couldn't refuse on the tires on the brown truck in a couple of weeks.

I'll voice my opinions however I want, and if you go back and read, you said 305 75 17, which is nowhere near a damn 33" tire

Dude, seriously stop, anymore posts from you and I will ask an admin to step in and remove your posts. You obviously haven't looked at what I posted which clearly says a 305/75R17 is a 33.5 inch tall tire, not a 35. It also clearly states that a 315/75R17 is a 34.5, not a 35. Quit being ignorant and get lost.

I didn't say a 315 was a 35 either, a 315 is 34.5

I am not going to argue about tire size, not when it can so easily be looked up on any manufactures website. I have notified an admin, and I am done.

Pictures in the sun

For the money spent, I can't complain, but this guy won't be getting my business again. I guess I have to keep looking for a new body guy since my old guy retired
