Although I do love the looks of a Colorado, the S10 gets my vote.

My next project will be a square bodied (gen1?) S10. My plan as right now will be an AWD swap, mild H/C 5.3l and if I could afford it a t56 trans, but I doubt ill have the coin for that so a manual VB trans of some sort would be the most likely choice. And of course, all of the suspension mods my wallet can take which is most important to me and my driving style.

SOOO.... Please build ^that^ and let me know how hard it will be lol

if you plan to stay EFI, i think the 98+ s10 is what you're after.

And why is that please? Also should I start with a 4.3 truck for any reason?

I would say most are. That was meant more as a possible direction to consider with the AWD and what not. Good luck though

I have the 4.3 radiator on my S-10 and it has no problems keeping my engine cool with a single 16" fan.

Found a 98 SS 4.3 Auto yesterday. Real clean. I'll see if I can strike a deal.
