C10 L96 swap! "help"
#1
Hi guys I am new to this web site. I am looking to L96 drop in my 73 2wd C10. I have a complete L96 with factory wiring harness and PCM. I have complete knowledge of reading wiring schematic's and access to and know how. I was wondering how the anti theft is by passed with out taking the the PCM in to get the anti theft deleted from a tuner guy? If thats were your supposed to take it to i don't know. I have done an 3800 series II engine swap with the pass key 2 system that is easy to bypass the anti theft by wiring in the the anti theft module and finding the the correct resistance in the key with correct module. I never done an engine swap with anything newer then 1997 ahah. Please help whats out there with out spending a lot of money.

You'd need someone to disable the VATS system in the computer for it to start because you won't have BCM in there. You'd also need any other codes turned off for it to run correctly depending on what transmission setup you are trying to run.

Beats me, regardless this computer is going to need a custom tune anyway.
It won't run correctly if you are going to use a Turbo 350, you need to disable all the transmission based abuse/torque mngt settings and codes from the computer.

It's best to take the vehicle and everything to a place, that way you can trouble shoot if something isn't working. You could get into a real headache if you sent it out and got it back and it didn't run and drive correctly.
There are some places in the twin cities area that are performace shops that do aftermarket tuning.
