Things have been coming along slowly. But hopefully we will have it running in a few weeks. Might be having a little trouble with the steering shaft being to close to the head, not allowing header to fit. Might have to re fab motor mounts to try to get some more clearance on the left bank. Still have to fab a trans mount, and decide if we are going to run a fuel cell or use stock tank. I am leaning more towards a cell.

I guess getting the motor as far back as possible for "weight transfer" didn't work out so great

A little adjustment is all that's really needed, shouldn't be too big of an issue hopefully.

To help clearance the steering shaft a lil most guys are taking some washers and placing them between the gear box and frame..This way it usually makes just enough room to clear the headers....

If we shim the gear box it will move the shaft closer to the head. The top of the shaft is where we are having clearance issues anyway. We are just going to have to refab some mounts and not move it as far back. I am also tryin to find a four speed floor shifter if anyone has one layin around...

The top of the shaft as in near the firewall??? Shimming the gear box out away from the frame a lil will move the top of the shaft away from the header...And I have a tan/biege blazer floor shift console too if you are interested....

Blazer, here is a shot of my steer shaft. I used off the shelf motor mounts and shortie headers on mine. Hummer oil pan gave me the room to move the block back. Im not using 4L60-80E tranny (Yet), I have a TH-350 now. No A/C? I thought about deleting mine, but found room to use it. Your build is looking good!
