Don't even consider re-using that intake. You'll destroy your new engine for sure.

Just for the fun of it, cut the thing open and take some pics.

Sad thing is I have a 5.3 for sale.

Whats usable the timing cover bolts? LOL

the intake defiantly has **** in it! so im looking for a new intake now. might just use the stock one until i get a new one. i just ordered a x link too for the 87mm TB.
i dont think anything is salvage able. maybe a few bolt, timing cover, lifter trays were good. valley cover, knock sensors, cam sensor, oil pressure sensor. lol
nothing useful or expensive was good.
for a low compression 5.3, this thing was awesome! sad that it let go so soon.
the new project will be done shortly!

Get a band saw and cut the intake right down the middle, I want to see whats in there.

LOL ! this intake could still be used! it would be a good core to have sent off to be ported! im just not sure if that is the best bet for me? im not sure how those ported intakes hold up to boost abuse!
im lookiing at new intakes!
how do you like that holley intake richard?
is there anywhere that sells just the intake with out the rails?
or a edlebrock.
looks like ill be using stocker for now. but ill be upgrading soon, since i just ordered a x link.
