so ran the Griots 6" over it tonight with the boss fast correcting cream followed by the boss paint sealant paint looks deep and so glossy way better then then Meguiar's ultimate 3 step compound, wax and polish i been using

took some pics of my cousins truck (GMC) and mine

Both of them are beautiful! Wish I had my 05,06,07 back. I'd be happy with any of them.

i got me engine back from the machine shop so started to go over the head bolt holes to clean them, hope to have the crank rods and pistons my monday

next i need to find the time to get the heads and cam out of my zo6, have to pull the steering rack to get the crank pulled off not looking forward to that

this is going so slow i think a turtle can pass me up

this thing was rusty he got it really clean



one cylinder has this mark but it cant be felt even dragging a pin across it

I would use a set of 706 heads. With flat tops you’re looking at about 11.5 CR.

I had CNC 317s on mine and put the 706s on and it’s a night/day difference. It runs so much better.

For a DD, it’s hard to beat them.

I was thinking about other cam but my old 4l80e dont seam happy these days so being i have the ported 2.5 prc 243's already and the btr cam on hand thats what im going to use should put me right at 10.5 CR, that combo make some strong power in my ls6 475/415 n/a in front of a manual trans if i can get around 400/380 id be happy with it for now, i have "turbo build" yelling at me from that little voice in my head seams it just wont shut up lol but have to focus on my car once this engine is in and that all together

Those 243's will be great on there, power down low will be needed for heavy wheels.

got the block painted tonight let it setup, tomorrow going to try check the ring gaps and install them on the pistons

used Dupli-Color Engine paint, we painted my sons engine with it a few years ago and its held up pretty well here in the midwest
