Ditto. It's why my wiring looks like a rats nest. I hate small detail crap. Makes me madder when I see people who excel in it and it makes things look that much better.

 

The main thing I hate about the little detailed stuff is that I just don't ever have time. If I was retired and could spend days at a time on something I would probably love it. But for example these simple retrofits I started around 930pm slammed them together in about an hour and then it took over an hour to adjust them. By the time I was completely done it was midnight and I had to get up the next morning at 6am and wouldn't be home until 10 or 11pm that evening. Not to mention I needed to drive the Tahoe the next day because it's the most civilized of my fleet.

I would have loved to do the 4hi mod while I was in there or mount the ballast to the underside of the radiator support. Instead the wires are just pushed into a hiding spot until I get more time.

 

Light output pictures are sorta useless since is difficult to determine how far things are in the picture. However here is a picture of the retrofit output.

 

What is your bulb and ballast combo? Did you say already and I missed it?

 

Morimoto mini H1 projectors with 35watt 4500k bulbs. What the retrofit sources calls "Pure white"

 

What brand ballast? You have a lot more light than I do! I'm using Chinese ballasts with Morimoto bulbs. Maybe I need more ballast

 

All morimoto. The ballasts are their XB series. I've messed with a lot of different brands of HIDs and will only buy Morimoto from now on. I have their 55w setup in my RCSB and it's not much difference compared to the 35w.

 

Maybe I need to not be so cheap and pony up 😂

 

The money from that cam you just sold would pay for a few sets 🤑
