running into a little problem, on a cold start i see greyish smoke coming out of my exhaust for a few seconds then goes away, i revved the truck and nothing.. drove it for like 20 miles then turned it off started it again no smoke. parked it overnight and started it in the next morning and i could see the smoke again, so its only on cold starts.. its probably the valve seal thats causing all this.. i hope the rings are alright the short block is only 400 miles old

Bad news turns out i have 5 thou piston to wall clearance idiot engine builder.. i read that its alot for a forged engine, any effects on the engine? The only way to fix stuff is to get bigger pistons i guess.. im at 4.070 now

Clearance specs are set by the piston mfg. it varies with piston design and material used, mahle pistons typically have .002-.003 clearance and custom pistons like J&E and Diamond (2618 material are usually around .004-.005, turns out my piston should be at .005 i double checked with the manufacture today
