You've been given pretty sound advice so far. The sloppy community has really tested the durability of stock parts and getting the LS platform dependably shredding tires at varying boost levels. You can probably reach your desired power levels at around 15lbs of boost with the popular 78/75 turbo without a filter and with open exhaust through a 4L80. You'll need to be running e85 for those boost levels though.

There's a lot to learn, but all the info is out there.
