That yellow trailer wheel fairing/cover looks similar to the fiberglass cover on my 81 MasterCraft 19’ Skier’s trailer from a later model.
nice build so far!
That would be our 08' 18' Glastron SX. Its been parked there since 2020. I told myself I had to finish my LB7 before I did anything else. I hope to get it out this upcoming summer, and get back on the wakeboard. I was blessed with the inability to ski. My feet have to be tied together.
Excellent work. This truck will be so nice when completed. I'd love to tear mine down to the frame and restore/improve it but that is a huge undertaking.
Cool info about the duramax core support swap.
Following for sure.
Just takes time and a little money. This is actually the furthest I've ever had one apart all at once. My Duramax had a similar experience over the last few years. Thankfully it was low miles rust free so the body and frame stayed mated together as rust repair was not needed.
Thank you, the intercooler swap is my favorite part thus far.
Amazing work!!
I am also one of the few crazy people to do a frame off on a gmt800.
I tore my entire truck apart 10 years ago to the last bolt and had the frame and everything blasted and powder coated and replacing every single bolt and everything.
it was a time consuming job but well worth it in the end, so nice to work on now.
Can't wait to see how yours turns out!!
UPDATE:
After the original body guy backed out of taking the project on I reached out to some friends of mine and finally found someone who would commit. He wrote up an estimate and had us look it over. We dropped the new bed, and all the replacement panels for it off on Friday. He's going to get it done and in primer then we're going to take the cab over.
I got an update from my friend Ryan on the engine yesterday, "Decked and bored main line is honed and I got the bob weight measured up and ready to balance the crank".
Progress is progress. Can you believe that block is 25 years old?
He knows about the whole thing. He's actually helping out when/where he can. He wants to help more but I get in a rhythm and my OCD likes things done a certain way. He's not so patient so I tend to do a lot of the more tedious stuff myself. He helped strip the old loom off the wiring and has been a much needed 3rd hand when hanging some of the heavier parts.
Progress on the bed via the body guy. This rust free bed really was rust free! Although the wheel wells and bedsides were beat up, the floor and bullk head was pristine. $700 marketplace find. Skinning bedsides and tubs was an easy decision to just go ahead and do and make sure the metal was good. Especially since the bedsides looked like someone had taken a ball peen hammer to them.
More Progress. He's working on our project in between working on his normal collision work. Progress is progress and we knew the body work would take the longest. The LMC bedsides didn't fit perfect but he said they were nice, and the fitment stuff was common with aftermarket parts. He's been using his garage queen to to check measurements against, he even robbed his taillights to make sure he got the gaps dialed in just right.
We took awhile to find someone who was willing to take this on but it's the little OCD things this guy has been doing that give me the warm fuzzies.
