Default 2000 RCSB LQ4 80e

Thought I would start a new thread about this truck. This swap was initially supposed to be just yanking the 4.3 and 60e out of the work truck and throwing in the 6.0 80e. But as most everyone knows this is usually not how it goes. Engine wouldn't make a complete revolution. I tore it down and found a stuck open injector on #7 and a bent rod due to hydrolock. So things started to spiral a little more out of control than I ever intended. Everything in this engine is now new or different except for six connecting rods. The engine consists of a SBE LQ4 with new pistons and a different crank and a couple new rods. Billet adjustable timing set, BTR camshaft, springs, pushrods, and Trunion upgrade. A set of 799 heads. Fully studded with ARP. Topped with a holley hi ram and throttle body. Engine dynod 485/460 at the crank. Engine pics :

The truck it's self is a base model that was a work truck in Tennessee. It's pewter, my favorite color. With an HD front end and roll pan. Has a 2/4 drop on it with VAS traction bars. The rear end is a 9.5 inch 12 bolt. The truck will be caged as well. I'll post some more pics this afternoon.

Plans for the truck are to paint the whole thing and get the new 6 lug weld wheels when they come out. Going to have a driveshaft made through summit for it since it's gonna have to be a bastard. Interior is fairly nice for the year on this one, gonna mount my bottle where the center seat goes. I have gutted the cluster and painted the clear part black to mount my small screen to. I also found a dash bezel from a later model and the radio opening will fit my big screen perfectly. I intend to use the switch functions of the digital dash to control nitrous.

Those are just regular GMC Sierra 6 spoke 20's, you find them on alot of SLT trucks.

They are heavy with 275/55/20 stock size tires, like 90-100lbs per corner.

Yeah man they're just from a nnbs sierra. They're pretty heavy. They're actually on my daily now with smaller tires. But they're still too heavy for me to want to run all the time.

Looks like a sweet build!

Did you get the mains line-bored with the ARP studs?

No they weren't but everything checked out okay. Clearances were all spot on. The rods were honed though. Learned that the hard way lol

Engine looks great! Can't wait to see it in the truck and running.
