04 RCSB. Boost Truck

I bought this truck in 2004 with 1,800 miles on it. I used it to pull an enclosed trailer every day. The truck now has 198,000 miles and treated me great over the years. It's been sitting a while and I've always wanted to do something to it. I've finally decided to start the build.

Goal for this truck is an all around fun daily driver. A truck that stops good, turns good, and fries tires at will.

Took it to the car wash to knock some of the dust off.

Started the tear down. Removed bed, engine, trans, brakes and lines, fuel tank, and cut out a few bars and brackets that won't be needed.

I have an aluminum fuel cell, LC9 short block, 243 heads, and a 4l80e to put in it.
I'm still trying to decide on the turbo. It needs to spool instantly and still carry the rpms well. Also trying to decide if I should do 5 lug swap, 4 link, and what brakes to use. I also plan to lower it, roll pan, SS bumper, and cowl hood.

You swapping the reluctor or running a conversion box?

Swapping reluctor.

Spool instantly and carry the rpms eh...let me know when you find that one.

How much power do you want and how much do you want to spend?

Lol. I hear ya. And I guess I should be more clear. I'm shooting for a setup that spools quick from 3000 to 6500 rpm. And makes at least 650whp. I had a TC76 on a 5.7. It started falling off at 5500 rpm. But everything else was great. I want something similar in this truck. Possibly the new BW S371 from forced inductions.

Curious as why you made that comment...he speaks on a lq9 which is a 24x motor

By any chance is this Ken Herring?

A loose converter will get the turbo to spool faster but you're still going to have some lag.

With a turbo, 3200-3500 would be a good start for a stall.

It's an LC9. 4th gen 5.3 that comes with a 58x.
